WFC3/IR provides a huge leap in capability for HST for discovering and characterizing galaxies in the reionization epoch at redshifts as early as z 8-9. The first deep observations of the HUDF with WFC3/IR have provided the deepest near-IR images ever, and have enabled the discovery of a robust sample of young galaxies at z 8 and a large increase in the galaxies known at redshifts z 7. WFC3/IR, WFC3/UVIS and ACS working together on deep fields like the HUDF and wider surveys like GOODS over a very wide range of wavelengths will revolutionize the study of high redshift galaxies. The results that will come from HST over the next few years will ensure a very substantial base for JWST's crucial sensitivity, resolution and spectroscopic capability to explore around and beyond z 10 where HST cannot go. I will highlight the remarkable first results on high redshift galaxies from the first third of the deep HUDF09 WFC3/IR program data in the context of the framework for galaxies at z>5-6 provided by many years of HST observations since the HUDF.
