I review the plans of the CMB community for detecting signals from the epoch of inflation by probing the polarization of the cosmic microwave background radiation. The plan relies on vigorous technology development, multiple observations from suborbital platforms, and leads to a space mission called CMBPol that can start around mid-decade. I will highlight the goals for the mission and will describe the suborbital program and technology development needed to prepare for it.
