Why are measurements of the polarized flux the "next big thing" in CMB studies? What have available measurements of polarization revealed about cosmology and the early Universe that other measurements have not? I will try to answer these questions as I review the current state of CMB polarization measurements. I will then look ahead to plans to sharpen current constraints and to detect the B mode polarization signal, a pattern specifically and uniquely linked to a brief period of inflationary expansion of the Universe at t = 10-35 sec. If time allows, I will analyze the limitations to such searches set by polarized emission from foreground sources, Galactic and extragalactic.
