We have been developing a method to follow changes in the pulse frequency of transient X-ray sources in detail. Our goal is to correlate changes in the pulse frequency with the accretion torque. By examining transient sources, we hope to explore a large range of luminosities and torques within each source. This will allow us to ignore a lot of the particular features of each source, making each source an independent test of accretion theory. The ultimate goal is to combine the results from many such sources into a single strong test of accretion theory over a wide dynamic range. We have developed an analysis method by studying data taken with the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer Proportional Counter Array of two sources which were monitored with a high observing frequency over the course of multiple outbursts, enabling a very precise determination of the pulse frequency. These sources, GRO J1744-28; and SAX J2103.5+4545, were special in that they were observed with a higher frequency for a longer time with RXTE than any other transient pulsar source. As we expand our collection of sources, we must study sources the observations of which have not been nearly so ideal for our purposes. We have adapted our method to look at these sources and the first such source to which we have applied it is KS 1947+300. This source was chosen because it was monitored reasonably frequently through an outburst with RXTE and because it was the subject of a report of an observation of a glitch, a sudden change in the pulse frequency, not do to external accretion torques.
