Surveys for OH and methanol in our galaxy are well advanced, but the study of the most abundant of masers, water at 22 GHz, has lagged behind. We are rectifying this with mosaic-mode blind surveys of portions of the Galactic disc, and most recently the Galactic centre. These pilot regions have been very successful and we now wish to complete them with new final spectra of higher spectral resolution and better sensitivity, and an assessment of their variability.
