We present an analysis of disk-integrated spectra of the Ca II K line (3933.68 A). The selection of parameters in the line profile, and the correlations between them, follow the work of Smith (1960), but represent an innovative aspect in the fact that our data are spatially integrated. Therefore, the subsequent identification of correlations between line-profile parameters in disk-integrated solar spectra may be useful in identifying similar correlations in high-resolution spectra of solar-like stars. Significant correlations are found between a derived chromospheric contrast parameter and K2 asymmetry, K3 intensity, and the integrated K-line flux. The derived filling factors of the active regions that mark rotation and the total active chromospheric network agree well with estimates from contemporaneous images of the Sun.
