We propose to investigate the intrinsic properties of the hot interstellar-medium in early-type galaxies. For this purpose we have chosen a well selected sample of isolated, optically similar, nearby, elliptical galaxies to minimize the influence of external factors such as the presence of a group or different luminous masses. Three objects already studied show the full range of Lx/Lb scatter observed in larger, heterogeneous samples. With this proposal we request 5 additional objects that will complete the small, but homogeneous sample of bright Ellipticals.
