We are requesting time to re-observe a rich cluster of galaxies (CL 1257+4738; z = 0.866) that we have observed with XMM-newton (obsID 0413380), but we only had much less (how much is yet to be determined) than 16 ksec of usable data out of a 83 ksec observation. With these data we confirm the existence of diffuse X-ray emission. We tentatively conclude that the cluster is unusually cool for its bolometric luminosity and compared to all other clusters at this redshift. More observation time is needed to confirm or deny this result. The spectrum is so soft and the Chandra observation so short that we could not derive a spectrum from the Chandra data.
