The Type Ia supernova science working group of the Palomar Transient Factory (ATEL#1964) reports the discovery of the Type Ia supernova PTF10mwb. A spectrum of PTF10mwb was taken on Gemini North on June 30 UT. The redshift is approximately z=0.03 ± 0.01, from a fit to the SN. Matches to other spectra using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005) indicate that PTF10mwb is a fairly normal SN Ia that was discovered at least a week before maximum light.
