Abstract

A circular-polarization analyzer for the coude focus of the 1-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences is described. The description of the device covers its design, parameters, and analysis of its instrumental errors. The high quality of the analyzer is demonstrated by using it to measure the magnetic standards α 2 CV n, and 53 Cam and to analyze the magnetic behavior of a unique object—the magnetic Ap-star γEqu.
