We take benefit of the GALEX and IRAS shallow surveys to build large
samples of galaxies selected in FIR or in FUV to analyse selection
biases. These samples can be used as a reference for high z surveys in
the same (rest-frame) wavelength. A comparison with samples of Lyman
Break Galaxies is performed.
