Thirty galaxies from ESO/Uppsala lists, near declination -60 deg, have been further studied with direct photography and image-tube spectroscopy in a pilot program. One quadruple interacting system at z = 0.10 and a double system with a long bridge at z = 0.16 represent the practical limit for radial-velocity determinations for absorption-line galaxy spectra with the ESO 1.5-m telescope and image-tube spectrograph. Eight galaxies with emission lines were found.
