Radial velocities of the shifted H-alpha lines in the spectrum of SS 433 are determined from spectrograms obtained on 17 nights in July-December 1979. Examples illustrate how the position, intensity, and structure of the shifted H-alpha lines can change within a day or even a few hours. Comparison of the shifted H-beta and H-alpha profiles suggests substantial differences in the Balmer decrement for the separate gas clouds that make up the stream in this binary system. Tracings of spectra with strong absorption features in the short-wavelength wings of the stationary H and He I lines are presented and described briefly.
