The paper discusses the continuum spectrum, luminosity, and surface gravity of SS 433 indicating that it is an early O-type star subjected to interstellar absorption of AV of 8 mag. The rest emission lines are complex due to a narrow system proposed to be fixed to the primary 05f primary object in a binary star and a broad system representing mass loss. The moving features arise from discrete 'bullets' symmetrically shot out in two opposite jets at 0.25 c. The lifetime of the bullets is up to 10 days, may possibly be less, so that the length of the jets may reach 5 x 10 to the 10th km.
