The position of a new X-ray source not listed in the Uhuru (3U) catalog was determined on the basis of observational data obtained with instruments carried by the satellite Ariel V, launched on October 15, 1974. The new source was designated A1118-61. Four simultaneous observations of Cen X-3 and the new source were obtained. Details of the position determination are discussed, giving attention also to an estimate of the error.
