Elliptical galaxies rotate very slowly, and this rotation affects the way in which gas lost from stars finds its way into the nucleus. It is suggested that the dynamical nature of this flow is the reason why extended double radio sources occur in elliptical galaxies, rather than in spirals. A specific computed example is presented to illustrate the principle, and some observational consequences are discussed.
