6.7 GHz methanol masers have been found to be closely associated with regions of massive star formation. Single channel infrared photometer observations of 60 methanol maser sources were compared to a model of a spherically symmetric dust cloud. It was found that this model did not explain the observations and that there was a dip in the SED in the region of the L-band for ~ 50% of the sources. It is proposed that a circumstellar disk is a possible explanation for the dip. Further modelling will be done to investigate this possibility. Emission from gas in the region may contribute to the K band flux therefore it is necessary to obtain images at the H_2 and Br(gamma) lines before the emission from the dust can be determined. It is also necessary to confirm the associations of the masers with the NIR sources before anything conclusive can be said about the nature of these sources. High resolution images of the regions with and without dips may reveal the difference between these two types of sources.
