A proper motion survey at the north galactic pole have been performed at the CFHT on a 4 year time baseline. We investigate for the presence of ancient white dwarfs in the sample and determine their possible contribution to the local density of the dark Halo. In the volume explored no candidate was detected, giving an upper limit to the ancient white dwarf fraction in the dark halo of 20% at most.
