New sensitive observational data are presented of the 18-cm OH and 1.35 cm H2O line profiles of about 70 stellar sources. A considerable number of a new features are found. There is a striking correspondence between the OH main line profiles for each source; the 1612 MHz OH profiles are, however, usually quite different. This result is in agreement with current models of OH excitation. The results are briefly compared with existing data; the correlation between H2O sources and Type I OH/IR objects reported previously was due to a selection effect. Attention is drawn to a correlation between the H2O and OH line profiles.
