The effect of mass loss on the isochrones and the main-sequence turn-up for young clusters is studied. Assuming reasonable mass loss rates we find that the effect on the determination of the nuclear age of young clusters is very small. The results are applied to the Orion OB-association. Mass loss cannot explain the discrepancy of about a factor two between the nuclear age and the shorter kinematic age of young clusters.
