Electron-positron pair annihilation in the strong magnetic field prevailing at a neutron star's surface is considered. The lifetime of a cool positron with respect to single-photon decay is analyzed, along with the width of the two-photon X-ray emission line at 511 keV in a strong magnetic field. It is shown that in this case the 511-keV line will be broadened, and the shape of the two-photon annihilation spectrum will depend on the magnetic-field strength.
