The heights of sporadic E-layers as scaled from standard ionograms are analyzed for information on the seasonal variation of the semidiurnal wind component in the dynamo region. The most significant result is the maximum of semidiurnal component in local summer. On the occurrence plots of sporadic E, the data are best satisfied by the sum of two independent patterns of semidiurnal winds: a strong system arising in the 'summer hemisphere' and a weak system arising in the 'winter hemisphere'. A combination of 2,2; 2,3; and 2,4 winds is chosen to reproduce the 'summer hemisphere'.
