Events involving the Galilean satellites in the period between November 1978 and February 1979 are discussed. A triple conjunction that is, an almost exact conjunction involving three satellites - will occur November 8, 1978 when J I will pass slightly to the south of J IV and less than an hour later pass slightly to the south of J II, followed two hours later by the passage of J II slightly to the south of J IV. The dates for fourteen cases of the simultaneous transit of shadows from J I and J II are reported. The occultation of J III by J II on January 7, 1979 is unusual in that conjugation does not occur at that time. Conjugations occurring January 12, 14, 17, and 24 (1979) are described.
