Observations of the Eta Carina nebula at the f/15 focus of a 3.9 m telescope with an electronographic polarimeter are reported. The polarimeter uses a Wollaston prism to analyze the light which is recorded on a 4 cm electronographic camera. A polarization map of the Homunculus Nebula, approximately 20 arcsec diameter centered on Eta Carinae was prepared with 0.7 arcsec resolution. The electric vectors of the polarization of the Homunculus show an overall circular pattern approximately centered on Eta Carinae. The pattern, both in degree of polarization and orientation is remarkably smooth considering the irregular luminous structure of the image.
