Spectra of 30 filaments in the Puppis A supernova remnant are examined which were obtained with a dispersion of 25 A/mm using an image photon-counting system. The data indicate large random motion (about 100 km/s) of the filaments, considerable turbulence within them, velocities of plus 300 to minus 300 km/s, evidence of an overall expansion of about 250 km/s, and two types of filament (distinguished by the relative intensities of the H-alpha and 6584-A forbidden N II lines). A shock velocity of approximately 800 km/s is estimated, and a proper motion of 0.05 arcsec/yr is obtained for an expansion velocity of 250 km/s at a distance of 1 kpc.
