Two theories concerning the motion of Iapetus, the eighth satellite of Saturn, are reviewed: that of Struve (1933) and of Sinclair (1974). Their determinations of epoch longitude shows a saturnicentric difference of 0.12 degrees leading to a geocentric difference of 1.0 arcsec. On the basis of these theories, some disturbing terms are added. These include solar perturbations and perturbations of Titan. This resulting modified theory and observations made from 1888 to 1973 are used to fit the mean motion and epoch longitude of Iapetus. These values are then used to derive residuals which correspond to all the observations used.
