A correlation between the brightness of the eclipsed moon (BEM) at
mid-totality and Wolf's relative numbers of sunspots gives a coefficient
of correlation (CC) of 0.624, while an inverse CC (of -0.551) results
from correlating BEM with the degree of obscuration. Sunspot activity
versus BEM is plotted for the 14 eclipses observed.
