The attraction force of two massive bodies connected by a rod is calculated in a post-post-Newtonian approximation. As far as we know this is the first calculation in such an order of approximation. Although the result already shows a complicated field-field interaction, we reproduce Newton's attraction forceM 1 M 2/R 2 as the leading term in powers of 1/R.
