Scientific paper
The paper addresses the question as to whether or not giant planets can acquire contemporaneous orbital eccentricities if they are made up of embryos moving initially along strongly eccentric orbits. Other possibilities for the evolution of the orbits of planetary embryos initially located in the zones of Jupiter and Saturn are discussed as well.
