We request 6 nights on the CTIO 0.9-m telescope as part of the upcoming 2003 CTIO Summer student programs. The primary goal of this project is to provide instruction and experience for the CTIO summer students in observing techniques and procedures, and in using an astronomical telescope and CCD detector. We will observe RR Lyrae variable stars in several colors to refine their calibration as distance indicators, determine extinction and place contraints on stellar model. This project is a collaboration with the Bowling Green State University Variable Star Project.
