Microturbulent-broadening misinterpretation of the velocity stratification of a Mira photosphere due to matter-outflow below, and matter-infall above, the outgoing shock front, leads to incorrect results. It is presently noted that the strengths of weak lines and blue-shifted lines with symmetric profiles formed below the shock front, since they do not strictly depend on outflow/infall velocities, can be subjected to classical coarse analysis.
