Effects of Wesson's 5D theory of gravity (1983) on cosmological quantities are studied by using Chatterjee's (1986) solution obtained for the 5D gravitational field equations in vacuum. The equation of state affected by the geometrical property of the 5th dimension suggests that our universe experienced a stiff matter state before the radiation era.
