Two kinds of linear multistep integration techniques, the Adams-Cowell method and the KSG integrator, were comprehensively compared. The former is generally introduced for the calculation of the ephemeris of a perturbed celestial body in the precision orbit determination, and the latter is included in an orbit determination software pack manufactured by the Center for Space Research at the University of Texas in Austin. A numerical test was also tried on, and the along-track errors caused by the two methods were given in solving two representative examples. The results show that the Adams-Cowell method is more efficient.
