We investigate the importance of chemisorption effects in H2 formation in warm dense Photon Dominated Regions (PDRs). These environments are characterized by warm dust particles , where desorption energies, as measured from laboratory experiments, inhibit H2 formation through diffusion processes. We introduce an additional formation process where an impinging atomic hydrogen atom encounters a chemisorbed H. The release of the H2 molecule is achieved in a high rovibrational level as found in experimental and theoretical studies. This procedure allows to get on a physical basis, a realistic formation rate of H2. The formation scenarios obtained in the theoretical studies can be implemented without introducing empirical assumptions. We also compare our results to recent infrared spectra of H2 obtained with SINFONI at the VLT.
