A semiautomatic procedure which consists of comparisons of observed curves of growth with those obtained by model atmospheres is used to determine microturbulence velocity, effective temperature, gravity, and Fe and Ti abundances from the blue-violet high dispersion spectra of 26 K giants. Attention is given to the identification of the reference continuum and the oscillator strengths of the lines employed. Radii are derived from visual surface brightness, and then used to obtain masses and bolometric absolute magnitudes. Good correlation is found to exist between microturbulence velocity, absolute magnitudes, and the log of the gravity. The abundances show an apparent correlation with effective temperature, which is ascribed to a misplacement of the reference continuum. When empirically corrected, the Fe abundances of Hyades stars were found to be +0.17 + or - 0.06 dex relative to the field star average.
