The cooling rates of eight group IVA iron meteorites were redetermined using local bulk Ni and P variation. Two group IVA parent bodies are suggested, a IVA-L body including the low-Ni and low-P members of group IVA, and a IVA-H body including the high-Ni and high-P members. The nucleation history of each meteorite is reported, and the delayed parts of the distributions are tentatively interpreted as reflecting the very early shock histories of the parent bodies. As no detailed thermal models are available for the parent bodies, it is not yet possible to combine the shock histories of the single meteorites to a collective shock history of the parent body.
