A scheme is proposed for the correction of any model representation of ionospheric electron density profiles on the basis of available experimental data. Points of extrema and inflection of N(z) are isolated in the model profile. Parameters of coupled exponents approximating the profile are determined from values of height, concentration, and slope at these points. The correction is carried out by the substitution of the appropriate experimental data for the above-mentioned parameters in different parts of the profile.
