Turbulence in the diffuse ISM is particularly complex. The vast range of scales involved, the partial coupling of gas and magnetic fields, and the role of cosmic rays are a challenge for numerical modeling. Clues to its dissipation rate are provided by recent observations that will be presented. They independently support the space-time intermittency of turbulent dissipation: high-order structure functions of the velocity field, parsec-scale coherent structures of intense velocity-shear, CO structures at the milliparsec scale, unexpected molecular richness, large abundances of species formed via highly endothermic routes and H2 pure rotational line emission.
