Seven dwarf elliptical and irregular galaxies are discussed. For purposes of comparison, the globular cluster M13 is first described, explaining its giant branch and horizontal branch components and relating them to the cluster's great age. The star types in each of the seven dwarf galaxies are mentioned and explained in terms of the galaxies' ages, gas content, and rate of star formation.
