Average citation rate per person is almost exactly proportional to
career length; X-ray and radio astronomers are cited less often than
'old fashioned' optical ones (even after adjusting for shorter average
career length); and people who work on stars and galaxies are cited more
than twice as often as people who work on the Sun and Solar System.
