Results are presented for 4.8- and 10.7-GHz radio continuum observations of 56 bright spiral galaxies with a 100-m radio telescope. Integrated flux densities at the two frequencies are determined, and the results are combined with previous data to obtain integrated spectra between 408 MHz and 10.7 GHz. Thermal emission is shown to account for less than 40% of the 10.7-GHz flux from 43 to 54 galaxies. It is found that the spectral indexes for the 56 galaxies have an extremely narrow distribution (centered on a value of 0.74), suggesting that the production and propagation of cosmic-ray electrons in the galaxies must be very similar regardless of the morphology or the evolutionary stage of a galaxy.
