We show that periodical density variations in a conductive medium set up the swing amplification of shear Alfvén waves. Consequently, the energy of compressible waves propagating in the medium can be transmitted into the energy of transversal magnetic oscillations. The mechanism of swing energy transformation can be applied to many astrophysical objects.
