The true widths are measured of two very thin (sub-arcsec) loops observed on the disk at Hα+1.0 Å at a height of several thousand kilometers. A realistic deconvolution procedure is applied to correct for the combined instrumental profile of telescope and atmosphere. This yields upper and lower limits to the true widths, corresponding to the possible range in the magnitude of the effective aperture of the telescope (Fried parameter) at the moment of observation.
