We have evidence that some 6.7 and 12.2 GHz methanol masers may trace outflows emerging from protostars. The methanol masers could trace either well collimated outflows or more randomly distributed clumps formed by ionised stellar winds. We present preliminary proper motion studies of 12.2 GHz methanol masers. First results show that the proper motions of the maser components in G 9.62+0.20 are consistent with masers forming in an outflow rather than a disk.
