Various plans for detections of Earth-like planets have started after the success of the indirect detections of the Jupiter-like giant planets. Introduced in this article are the difficulties of the direct detections of extrasolar planets, two most promising methods for the direct detections (optical coronagraph and infrared nulling interferometer in space) and their technical challenges, and domestic activities regarding the "looking for other earths" projects.
