IRAS 19227+1700 is listed as a carbon star in the new carbon star catalog. However, this star is located in the region of the stars with rather thick oxygen-rich envelopes, but not in the typical region of the silicate carbon stars in the IRAS two-color diagram. Futhermore, there are evidences that IRAS 19227+1700 has not only the main line and satellite line OH maser emissions, but also the water maser emission which is close to the central star. The IRAS low-resolution spectrum of the star shows dust emission feature in the range of 9-12?m, and the near infrared. The observations verify that it has a hot circumstellar envelope. Therefore the envelope of IRAS 19227+1700 should be full oxygen-rich and it is very likely that the central star of it is also oxygen-rich.
