I present a short overview of Fermi's paradox, which is based on the lack of any evidence concerning the visit (past or present) of the Earth by extraterrestrials. As argued several times in the past, the most economic solution of the paradox consists in assuming that the number of technological civilisations in the Milky Way is very small and probably equal to one.
