On May 06, 2010 at UT 14:37:44 the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) triggered and located a short X-ray burst with position consistent with the location of AXP 1E 1841-0.45, located in supernova remnant Kes 73 (GCN #10722). We obtained a target-of-opportunity observation of duration 5 ks with RXTE on May 06, 2010 at UT 15:39:05 using the Proportional Counter Array in GoodXenon mode. Preliminary analysis of these data shows that the pulsed flux in the 2-11 keV band was a factor of 2.02 ± 0.06 higher than that obtained from averaging our regular RXTE monitoring observations of this source in the same energy band in the 200 days preceding the burst.
