The results of the surface and subsurface structural studies undertaken under the 1984 Haughton impact structure study (HISS) project are summarized, and some of the outstanding questions arising from HISS are considered. Special attention is given to the morphology and the structure of the Haughton impact crater, the nature and the significance of the allochthonous breccia deposit that covers the central uplifted area of Haughton, the results of dimensional analyses, and the age of the Haughton impact event. Future activities that could fill out the deficiencies in knowledge concerning the Haughton impact structure are suggested.
