An interference-polarization photometer (IV-2) is described that will
record absorption lines of the 1.38-micron H2O band in the spectrum of
solar radiation reflected from the Martian surface. Data on the content
of H2O in various regions of the planet Mars, obtained from December,
1971 to February 1972 are given and discussed.
